SoundPrism Pro Demo

SoundPrism Pro – Demo by thingstocome

Last night I had some time to hook up SoundPrism Pro (iTunes link) to Ableton Live via the Camera Connection Kit and a small M-Audio MIDI interface I had lying around. I am very pleased that it worked easily and the results are wonderful. I was able to record all the pretty chord and bass selections SoundPrism spit out. It took less than a few minutes to create verse and chorus melodies that work together. In this quick demo I used some free Roland TR-808 samples and a software Korg Wavestation through D16′s Devastor distortion. Truly inspirational.

“It’s like getting a futuristic keyboard in the present.” – Lee Kaczor (iTunes review)

SoundPrism 1.1

Every time I’m with a friend with small children I show the kids SoundPrism. They always react nicely to it. The latest update adds note names. This is a great addition making it easier to perform already known music. It’s also useful when bringing SoundPrism audio into a DAW to choosing what Scales to merge the audio with. They also added a record function and improved sounds. App store link: click here

Audanika SoundPrism

A few years ago when desktop computers became fast enough there was a golden era of audio plug-ins being released. Every week there was a new software synthesizer or effect that was beautiful and had functionality or sound quality not yet previously available in software. We are clearly entering the touch golden era. Apps like SoundPrism just have me smiling ear to ear. Wonderfully futuristic. It’s not quite out yet so follow Audanika on Twitter or Facebook for updates.

“What is SoundPrism? An intuitive and fun way to express yourself. An incredibly easy way to compose great music. A tool to create emotions with. A musical landscape for you to explore. What can I do with it? Impress my crush with some lovely handmade tunes. Relax during a stressful day. Build loops graphically. Dream.” – audanika.com
