Dave Clarke in the Studio

Future Music films Dave Clarke in his studio. Dave is one of my favorite DJs. I adore his long running show White Noise. Most of the time I am on my elliptical trainer I am listening to Dave’s high energy mixes. He plays a lot of techno EBM stuff which of course has my heart. I like how he says he labels the drums always in black. He doesn’t sidechain and never wanted too and he likes digital EQ better than analog. I’ve never met Dave in person but would love to have a drink with him.

“Educated at Brighton College, Clarke ran away from home at the age of 16 after his parents split up. After sleeping rough for a while, a friend offered him temporary accommodation. All that kept him going was his love for music, initially hip hop and post-punk (The Damned are a favourite of his to this day) and the money from his job in a shoe shop. He soon undertook a DJ set at the Brighton nightclub, Toppers. The night became successful and even worried a rival, at which John Digweed held residency” – Wikipedia
