The nightclub that made me “famous” gets a movie. Besides the song I created I performed there over 20 times. Sometimes I performed on Friday for Future Shock other times on a Wednesday for Disco 2000. I was friends with Ernie Glam who was roomates with Keoki and Michael Alig. Thier apartment was as crazy as people say it was. Everytime I met Peter Gatien he was very friendly. I was even once in the money room. It’s was a room with a lot of cash in it and a guy with a gun at the door. A lot of cash. While NYC is a nice place to live now it’s soul moved to Brooklyn.
“As the owner of legendary hotspots like Limelight, Tunnel, Palladium and Club USA, Peter Gatien was the king of the New York club scene until years of legal battles led to his eventual deportation to Canada. This exuberant documentary charts Gatien’s rise and fall against the transformation of New York City, offering a wild ride through a now-closed chapter in the history of NYC nightlife.
