Eventide Stompboxes

Everyone raves about the Eventide Stompboxes so here’s some videos to show you why. Basically they sound good, crazy and are dead simple to use. What more do you want? Yes I’m on a hardware kick lately! So if you had to get just one “E box” which one would it be? Space, TimeFactor, ModFactor or PitchFactor?

  1. I was on the verge of buying one, perhaps two of these babies but balked because of the price. I will in the future pursue them though. I won’t go for a bad substitute (I’ve got the iPad for that).

    I would opt for either the Time Factor or Pitch Factor, then Mod Factor.

    I think these effects are truly spectacular in tone and they appear to be well designed interface-wise, too.

  2. Im about to go for a TELEMARK…. And am looking at Eventide Space, Strymon Timeline, and also was considering TC Electronic Fireworx but am not sure…. Gonna check that Moog box now. Im loving hardware also. ; )

  3. I had some serious problems with the Time Factor. I got one early, traded is quickly.

    Eventide is SOLID stuff, but the OS, updates, and MIDI implementation left me high and dry for some of my work.

    Don’t discount these pedals at all, but do spend the time to test them out thoroughly if you plan on pushing the envelope. These are serious $, spend it wisely.

    If you intend on using the MIDI sync I recommend you test that out in depth. As is the case with nearly all hardware pedals that accept MIDI, running as slave and taking a tempo change may not produce the results you desire.

    In Eventide’s defense, MIDI as a time source leaves a lot to be desired. This was the root of my problems. And via this implementation variations on BPM do not operate as if in a perfect world.

  4. I tried Time Factor, within a minimal techno dj set… awesome. This box has been trusted by some of the very finest musicians, and DJs (eg MaGdA). Pricey, but worth.
