I like NI Maschine for drum programming.
It's visual drum programming (Step Sequencer) and it integrates perfect in any DAW. Basic rhythms are easy to program with the mouse. Complex drumloops like HH, percussion, glitch and fx sounds are much easer to program with visual feedback. Maschine makes a lot fun to create drumloops.
