I agree. Ableton has changed the game for my productions completely. It's so easy to select a track, record, and get out your ideas quickly and efficiently. I started in Pro Tools because it was the major studio standard I guess, but I hated the workflow. It was so uninspiring trying to write songs in PT. Then I went to Cubase and loved it, the interface, the play order track was great and reminded me of my MPC sequencer, great mixer, loved it. Then comes Ableton, at first I used it for DJing, and decided to give it a go for production. Haven't look at any other DAW since, other than when someone must have a PT session from me, I do all of my songwriting in Ableton. I think it's capabilities are damn near genius level. The crap people spread about the bussing is hogwash, keep your levels low and don't go into the red like Oliver said, and hear your tracks shine! I wonder what more they will do in Ableton 9. Also, finally got my hands on the APC40. Producing tracks in session view and triggering scenes with this feels like the future of production.

Live helped me discover my sound. VST's helped me realize my synth dreams on a super low budget. I loved Logic in the PC days, and messed around with CUBASE, but Live was what I think my creative brain needed. I give thanks always.

Yeh I have to say I really do like Live and it is the main DAW I use by a fair bit - I use Record/Reason aswell but no as much. It's just so simple to use and does exactly what you want, also stuff like being able to save pretty much any element, audio or midi clip or fx chain in the left hand menu is INCREDIBLY handy.

Glad to see Audio Damage got one of their plugs in that video :) - (Fluid)
