Its great that a hardware manufacturer has had the balls to commit to just one piece of software rather than trying to cover all the bases. I talk a bit more about it here - http://www.bedroommusician.com/news/07058/akai-apc40-the-ultimate-ableton-live-controller.html

Live expanded the dimensions of my previous DAW, ACID. I think the simplicity and elegance is becoming obscured.

I've been using the MPD24 as a controller for Live, drums, and synths so these two are quite nice but not a revelation.

Cycling 74 does not appeal to me. Burrowing endlessly into procration level fiddling cuts into my procrastination based recreational music hobby.

Keytar ... any new ideas? Make the new Live MPD style controllers in Keytar format maybe?

The EWIusb is the new Keytar anymay, I'm keytarded for it.

Keep up the great blog Oliver! Thank you.

APC40 is hot. That will allow for some more dynamic performances (I hope). Now the integration of fast uploads to facebook and myspace of music just means more of a flood of crap on the internet. At least when there was more effort involved it equated to at least filtering out the lazy people.

Yesss - Live 8. It has addressed all the little workflow issues (simple midi implementation, 128 paramater limit, no-crossfades) that were starting to bug me. I can't wait for this to go on sale, so I can get the upgrade.

That Akai APC40 is also way cool - I will be keen to see how much they sell that for.
