Hard drive crashing sounds.

What is a sound that every computer owner hates? Come on the answer is easy right? It’s the sound of a hard disc crashing! Data Recovery Services from Canada has full page of hard disc crashing audio samples. Hear the last breaths of Western Digital, Seagate, Maxtor, Samsung, Hitachi, Toshiba, Fujitsu and Quantum drives.

“These are some typical sounds we hear in our data recovery lab. If your drive makes noises like these please fill out our simple evaluation form to get a fast quote on data recovery services.” – datacent.com

Needless to say this is a strong reminder to back-up. Imagine loosing the only copy of a song you created? I use Time Machine and also SuperDuper.

  1. Hi,

Very very very important to make backup of your data, specially if you re making music, design, video …

Im working for a tech support (applecare), and i always say to our customers “”using computer without make backup it’s like to play russian roulette” :D

And yes, Time machine it’s a great things to make backup, really useful.

  2. Some great sounds for making some tech inspired tunes.. thanks for the link :)

  3. In the past, there was kind of an excuse not to back up… Burning your HD contents on CD (when that technology became available) was time consuming, and an additional HD (especially an external drive) was expensive. Plus, back in the day you didn’t have that much important stuff on the machine.

Nowadays, you can buy a USB external HD for $99 at tigerdirect or whatever discount computer place you use, plug it in, and then select the automated backup utility in Windows or OSX or whatever you use.

  4. These are the sounds of horror! I recognize a couple of hem from past disastrous experiences.

  5. Real great info can be found on site . “You don’t get harmony when everybody sings the same note.” by Doug Floyd.
