I love synthesizers. I own a bunch of old ones, new ones and virtual ones. I can’t get enough of them. I love them so much I like to watch people demo them on YouTube. Here’s a tip on how to make a YouTube channel that will show you all the synthesizer videos that are uploaded to the site as they appear.
First you need to join YouTube. Sure you can go there an watch videos without being a member but to make our super synth TV channel you need to sign up. Next click on “My Account” on the top of the site. On the next page it takes you to under “Subscriptions & Subscribers” click on “My Subscriptions”. Now here’s the tip: See where it says “Subscribe to Tags”? In that box enter words like: Synthesizer, Roland, Clavia, Korg, Moog, Arp, Oscillator. If you also want to see Soft Synth videos add: Native Instruments, Linplug, Way Out Ware, and so forth.
Now when you log in and go to your Subscriptions you will see all the latest videos with your tags on it. Basically everyday you will have 20+ new synthesizer videos waiting for you there to watch! I bookmarked: http://youtube.com/subscription_center which if your logged in takes you directly to your new super channel.
Of course this is really a general YouTube tip that can be used for anything. YouTube will also send you updates by email if you like. I think by default once a week you can an email with a list of new videos you have subscribed to.
Don’t forget to rate and comment on videos. Being social is half the fun! Do you have a favorite synthesizer video on YouTube?
